Corpus Christi Ship Channel

The Corpus Christi Ship Channel is a 45' deep expressway to the Gulf of Mexico for fish and boats alike. Running over 20 miles from the Port of Corpus Christi to connect with the Aransas Channel and Lydia Ann channels near Port Aransas before it goes through the pass between Mustang Island and St. Joseph Island, the Corpus Christi Ship Channel offers a variety of fishing opportunities. From reef species such as trout, redfish and snapper along the jetties to offshore species such as king and Spanish mackerel on calm days as the channel merges with the Gulf of Mexico. Further inland, between Ingleside and Port Aransas where it forms the boundary of Corpus Christi Bay and Redfish Bay, there are numerous cuts shorelines and spoil islands that offer opportunities for trout, flounder and redfish.
