Mud Island

The Mud Island area offers a multitude of fishing opportunities and options for different wind conditions. To the north, the outside of the island creates the southern shoreline of Aransas bay. This grass shoreline with sandy pot holes and drop-offs to the bay hold good populations of redfish and trout year round. Inside the island the shallow grass and various holes and cuts are good for targeting feeding redfish and trout. The pass on the inside of the island is also used often by anglers coming up from the south to access Allyn's Bight without having to run out into the main bay.
