South of Ransom Island, Ransom Point is juts out into the the deeper portion of Redfish Bay. The shoreline north of Ransom Point and south of it continuing along East Dagger Island is good wade fishing for trout with several deep holes holding trout in the area year round. Behind the island, the SW Redfish Bay Grass Flats are a popular area to stalk redfish.
