The shallow rocky area on north side of the mouth of Baffin Bay is called The Badlands. The treacherous rock formations that make navigating The Badlands difficult also make this area a prime habitat for trout and redfish throughout the year. With Compuerta Pass to the north, the Intracoastal Waterway to the east and the main body of Baffin Bay to the south and west, combined with the reef structure of rocks through out the area, The Badlands offers protection and highways for game fish that help it stay productive.
