Center Reef, also called Middle Reef, is one of the largest reefs in this section of Nueces Bay. It is one of a line of reefs that run between to 2 sets of power lines that cross the middle of the bay. Center Reef is a popular stop that has a large section to the north and a smaller thin section to the south with a channel running between them. Speckled trout, redfish and black drum can be caught here, with trout being the primary catch.
Center Reef is also one of the reefs that make navigating Nueces Bay hazardous because the crown of the reef is often only inches below the surface at low tide.
