L Reef

In the northern part of Redfish Bay, the "L" Reef is productive for speckled trout, redfish and black drum.  Named after its L shape, the reef borders the northeast edge of Hog Island Hole.  The combination of oyster shell and grassy flats with deeper water in front make it a great ambush point for predatory game fish wanting to feast on the reef dwelling bait fish, crabs and shrimp.  Fish along the south side drop off and pay special attention to the many cuts that run through the reef.
