Just off shore from Laguna Shores and the spill way of the Barney M. Davis Power Plant is Pita Island. The southern extension of Humble Channel meets the natural cut that runs down the King Ranch Shoreline just north east of the Pita Island. Several cuts and grass flats surround the island, making it a popular area for trout and redfish. Easy access from Laguna Shores makes this area popular with kayak anglers.
