Southeast Shore - Mesquite Bay

The Southeast Shore of Mesquite Bay is formed by the marshy shore of Matagorda Island.  The area is really more just east, but is commonly referred to as the Southeast Shore.  The hard sand bottom is excellent habitat for flounder while the tidal flows in and our of the grassy marshes of Matagorda Island hold a strong population of redfish and speckled trout.
