Padre Island National Seashore

The Padre Island National Seashore encompasses 70 miles of Gulf of Mexico and Laguna Madre shoreline.  The park is committed to maintaining the natural beauty of this pristine Coastal Bend barrier island while providing access to visitors from around the world.  Local fisherman affectionally refer to it using the acronym “PINS”. 

For the visiting angler, the Padre Island National Seashore offers access to miles of surf fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and bay fishing by wading or kayaking the Laguna Madre.  The park also offers a boat ramp in the Bird Island Basin that is a popular jumping off point for fishing Baffin Bay, The Land Cut and the southern portions of the Upper Laguna Madre.
