The Texas State Aquarium is one of the jewels of the Texas Coastal Bend.  It has dozens of exhibits that allow visitors to get face to face with sea creatures found in the waters of the Coastal Bend the Caribbean.  The original exhibit which opened in 1990 was the Gulf of Mexico.  It has since expanded to have the Caribbean Journey exhibit which displays a living reef system that can be viewed from multiple sides and from the top down.

The Aquarium’s interactive exhibits and shows allow visitors to interact with the sea life and offer a great educational experience.  Fees generated by the Aquarium are used to expand the offerings and to fund research and educational programs that are important to the health of the Coastal Bend’s rich marine system.

A visit to the Texas State Aquarium is well worth the time spent!
