Trout Bayou is just south of Turtle Bayou in Redfish Bay. It forms the demarcation of Talley Island to its North and Traylor Island to the south. Tides flow through Trout Bayou into the northern section of Estes Flats bringing bait fish with it and creating a popular ambush point for speckled trout, redfish and flounder.
Generally too shallow to navigate all of the way through, wading the cut or kayaking through to the deep holes at the north end of Traylor Island can be rewarded with nice catches of speckled trout and redfish. There are a number of secondary cuts and flats that jut into the southern end of Talley Island that can be productive for redfish.
